BOSTON, Mass. - Southern Connecticut Men's Indoor Track & Field Sophomore Holden Speed recorded the best Triple Jump in the Northeast-10 Conference this season, jumping 14.25m (46-09) at Day 2 of Boston College's Showdown at the Heights. The Owls recorded 14 top-five finishes over the two day meet.

Holden Speed won the Triple Jump, leaping 14.25m (46-09). That mark is a new personal best for Speed, and is the top jump in the NE10 this season. Speed and JC Joyner now hold two of the top six spots in the conference.

In the 800m dash, Nate Huebner led the Owls, finishing in 11th with a time of 1:58.74. That time is a new PR for Huebner, and is the sixth-best time in the Northeast-10 conference this season.  Owen Gagne and Evan McNeice followed in 12th and 13th, with times of 1:58.83 and 1:59.36. Gagne's time ranks seventh in the NE10, and McNeice's, which is a personal-best, ranks ninth. Mekkhi Adkins rounded out the pack in 16th at 2:00.10.

Frankie Porrini finished in 12th in the Mile, running a time of 4:25.35. That beat his previous personal-best time by over five seconds, and ranks seventh in the NE10 this season.

Luca Cazzaniga ran the 3000m for the Owls, finishing in 34th with a time of 9:11.89.

The Owls raced two 4x400 relay teams. The first foursome of Osaretin Osagie, Nolan Freeman, Matt Kilmer, and Sam Sandler placed second, running 3:15.70. That is the second best time in the NE10 this season, just behind the mark of 3:15.06 set by the same team last weekend at the Boston University John Thomas Terrier Classic. Their time today is tied for the 27th best in all of Division II this season. The Owls' other relay team of Ty Phelan, James Grace, Max Musial, and Philip DePoutot finished in third with a time of 3:22.84. That time ranks third in the NE10.

The Owls compete again in two meets on Saturday, February 15th, traveling back to Boston for BU's Valentine Invitational and sticking in New Haven for Yale's Geigengack Invitational.
