MANSFIELD, Mass. - Southern Connecticut women's lacrosse sophomore Maddox Burton was named to the Northeast-10 Conference Faces in the Crowd for this week, as announced by the NE10 on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. This is the first Faces in the Crowd recognition for Burton. 

In a 25-1 win over Saint Thomas Aquinas College on Tuesday, April 22, Maddox Burton broke the SCSU Women's Lacrosse program record for most assists in a single-game. Burton totaled a program-best and career-best of seven assists, recorded eight points, had a goal and two ground ball pick ups in the victory. Burton broke the previous program record of five assists in a single-game, which was set by Bayleigh Takacs in 2020 and Kennedy Sherman in 2015. In addition, seven assists is the most assists recorded by an individual player in the Northeast-10 Conference this season. Burton is ranked fifth in the NE10 with an average of 1.75 assists per game for the Owls. 

The Owls will return to action on Wednesday, April 23 at 5:00 p.m. in Springfield, Massachusetts in the NE10 regular season finale against American International.
