MANSFIELD, Mass. - Southern Connecticut softball standout first-year player
Izzy Ingersoll has been named the Northeast-10 Rookie of the Year as announced by the conference on Wednesday, Apr. 30. She is the second played in program history to be named the NE10 Rookie of the Year, the first being Megan Caporossi in 2007. Ingersoll was also named to the Second Team At-Large and to the NE10 Rookie Team. Pitchers

Giselle DeLutri also received end of year honors. Lewis was named to the Third Team At-Large and DeLutri was named to the Rookie Team with Ingersoll.
At the end of the regular season, Ingersoll was fifth in the conference in batting average hitting .375 while going 51-for-136. She led the Owls in batting average (.375), hits (51), runs scored (20), doubles (13), and triples (4). She also led in slugging percentage, on-base percentage and on-base plus slugging which was .940, and was second on the team in RBIs with 18. At shortstop, she had 81 assists and 33 putouts.
Lewis had a stellar junior season highlighted by back-to-back no-hitters at the start of the season. She finished with a 2.23 ERA which was third in the conference and a record of 7-9 while starting in all 18 of her appearances. The opponents batting average against her was .233 and she only allowed 15 extra base hits. She struck out 75 batters on the season and is closing in on the 200 career strikeout mark with 195.
Giselle DeLutri had a great freshman campaign in the circle appearing in 19 games for the Owls. She finished with a 3.74 ERA and a record of 6-10 while striking out 79 on the season.
