STORRS, Conn. – Southern Connecticut Women's Track & Field opened the 2025 Outdoor season with a fifth-place finish in a field of NCAA Division I teams at the UConn Dog Fight in Storrs, Conn. Hannah Caiola won the 400 Meter event with a NCAA Division II Top-10 time.
100 Meter Hurdles
Patrice Mansfield posted the eighth-fastest NCAA Division II time this season with a fourth-place finish in the 100 Meter Hurdles at 14.10.
400 Meters
Hannah Caiola posted a time of 54.88 to win the 400 Meters and posted the 10th fastest time in the young 2025 season. Avery Winters finished in sixth place at 56.94 while Brianna Cole had a PR of 1:01.43.
800 Meters
Julia Mansfield and Leticia DoNascimento both picked up points for the Owls in the 800 Meters. Mansfield finished seventh at 2:24.70 followed by DoNascimento at 2:27.57 in eighth place.
1500 Meters
Erin Sola finished fifth in the 1500 Meters at 4:50.55 while Abigail Bajorek set a PR at 4:54.63.
5000 Meters
Megan Whitnell ran a personal-best 18:28.92 to finished in fourth place in the 5000 Meters while Emilie Noreika was fifth at 18:37.41.
Hammer Throw
Celine Bozukluian hit a PR in the Hammer Throw with a mark of 48.95m for fifth place.
High Jump
Gillian Penna finished sixth in the High Jump with a mark of 1.55 Meters.
Javelin Throw
Hailey DeNucci had a PR in the Javelin Throw event. DeNucci finished eighth with a distance of 34.45 Meters.
Long Jump
Kisha Francois finished third in the Long Jump with a mark of 5.71m, which stands as the 20th best mark this season. Deja Fitzpatrick-Bell finished seventh at 5:47 Meters.
Pole Vault
Maddie Hathorn hit a personal best in the Pole Vault event with a height of 3.31 Meters.
Shot Put
Belle Smith's personal-best throw of 13.27 Meters was good for fifth place while Darla Jagrosse was seventh at 11.46 Meters.
Triple Jump
Uliana Pokutnia finished second in the Triple Jump with a PR of 11.49 Meters.
Relays
The 4x100 Meter Relay of Patrice Mansfield, Kisha Francois, Megan Swan and Avery Winters finished third with a time of 47.15.
The 4x400 Meter Relay team of Avery Winters, Hannah Caiola, Megan Swan and Kisha Francois finished fourth with a time of 3:47.30, which ranks 15th nationally this season. The 4x400 team of Lindsay Drozd, Joelle Budz, Julia Mansfield and Briana Cole finished fifth with a time of 4:04.26.
Southern is back in action with the Wilton Wright Invitational on Apr. 11-12 at Jess Dow Field.
