HOOKSETT, N.H. - Southern Connecticut Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field is set to compete at the 2025 Northeast-10 Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Southern New Hampshire, this Friday, May 2nd and Saturday, May 3rd.

The men's team is looking to defend their eight-straight NE10 Outdoor titles this weekend. Leading the way for the Owls will be Cameron Belton, who has absolutely dominated in the Shot Put coming off an All-American Indoor season. Outside of the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships, where he placed third, he has won the Shot Put at every meet he has competed at. He threw for a season-best 18.08m last weekend at the Barber/Maloney Invitational, which ranks first in the NE10 and fifth nationally. He also holds the top discus throw in the conference at 47.34m. He won both events at last year's NE10 Outdoor Championships. Jonathan Volpe has been dominant on the track, breaking the SCSU record in the 1500 with a time of 3:45.78. That is the 25th best time in Division II and the top time in the NE10. Natanael Barbosa Torres and Nevan Burke have also met NCAA Division II Provisional Marks. Barbosa Torres' season best throw of 17.08m in the Shot Put ranks in the top 30 in Division II, and Burke's mark of 60.97m in the Javelin Throw is the top mark in the conference. Nolan Freeman's time of 21.42 in the 200m Dash is the best in the NE10, and he also has recorded the third-fastest 100m Dash at 10.69. Rookie Marquis Ward also ranks in the top-five in both events. Mateo Viviano holds the top mark in the conference in the Pole Vault at 4.40m after winning the event at the indoor championships. First-year Owl Holden Speed ranks in the top-three in both the Long and Triple Jumps. Southern's 4x100 Relay ((Max Musial, Noah Conrod, Ward, Freeman), and 4x400 Relay (Musial, Quinn Favorite, Osagie, Matt Kilmer) both hold the top times in the conference. Other Owls with top-five times in the NE10 include Max Musial (400m), Evan McNeice (800m), John Glidden (5000m), Luca Cazzaniga (5000m, 10000m), and Mekkhi Adkins (400m Hurdles).

Leading the Owls will be Hannah Caiola, who continued her breakout 2024-25 season by breaking the SCSU record in the 400 with a time of 52.36. That is the #1 time in all of Division II, and ranks in the top 30 across all divisions. Caiola also owns the top 200m time in the conference. Kimberly Moran has twice broken the SCSU 3000m Steeplechase record this season, with her best time of 10:41.45 ranking 23rd in all of Division II. Her season-best throw of 45.18m in the Discus broke the SCSU record that had stood for 38 years, and her Discus and Hammer marks rank in the top-50 in DII. Patrice Mansfield has also met the NCAA provisional mark in the 100m Hurdles, with her time of 14.10 ranking in the top-40 nationally. Kisha Francois ranks second in the conference in both the 100m Dash and 200m Dash. In fact, Southern holds the top-five times in the conference in the 200m (Caiola, Francois, Mansfield, Avery Winters, Dardielle Exantus) and six of the top seven. The Owls also hold the top-two spots in the Heptathlon in Gillian Penna and Ginny Mullen.
