SCSU Field Hockey Picked to Finish Eighth in NE10 Preseason Coaches' Poll

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Southern Connecticut State University Field Hockey was picked to finish eighth in the 2025 Northeast-10 Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, as announced on Monday, Aug. 18, 2025.

Southern finished the 2025 campaign with a 4-9 record against NE10 competition while posting a 6-12 overall mark and featured a 4-4 mark at Jess Dow Field. The Owls featured three All-NE10 players in 2024 including returning standouts Keana Criscuolo, Taylor Leckey and Lyndsay Troisi. Leckey earned Third Team honors while Criscuolo and Troisi were All-Rookie picks.  

NCAA Division II National Champions Saint Anselm were picked as the favorites in the conference, with 139 points and seven first-place votes. Assumption was close behind with 132 overall votes and five first-place tallies. Pace was third with 111 votes followed by Bentley (109) who received the final remaining first-place vote. SNHU rounded out the top five, followed by Adelphi and Franklin Pierce. The Owls landed eighth ahead of American International, St. Thomas Aquinas, Mercy, Saint Michael's and Molloy. 

The Owls' 2025 slate begins on Sept. 6-7 at Mansfield University's season-opening tournament before the team opens its home schedule on Sept. 10 against Southern New Hampshire University.
