SCSU Women's Soccer's Makenzi Pastreck Named NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week

NEW HAVEN, CONN--- Southern Connecticut State University standout goalkeeper Makenzi Pastreck was named the Northeast 10 conference goalkeeper of the week as announced by the NE10 on Monday Sept. 14. This was Pastreck's first career goalkeeper of the week selection.
 
Pastreck helped keep the Owls two opponents scoreless for the week. On Tuesday Sept 8, Pastreck was tested three times against Georgian Court and saved all three chances, which helped the Owls to a 0-0 draw. On Saturday Sept 12 in the Owls senior day matchup, Pastreck held the Spartans of St. Thomas Aquinas College scoreless in the first half, before being replaced by Olivia Iafrate.
 
At the time of selection, Pastreck has yet to allow a goal this season, which ranks first in the conference. Pastreck's three shutouts rank second in the NE10. Her 13 saves rank third, while her 1.000 save percentage is at the top of the conference.
 
Southern Connecticut is back in action on Wednesday Sept. 16 when they host Queens College at 7 PM for a non-conference match up at Jess Dow Field.
