Southern Connecticut State University Athletics

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Senior Natasha Fitzpatrick (West Moonah, Australia) of the women’s cross country team and senior Michael Cerisano (Newburgh, N.Y.) of the football team have been named as the Southern Connecticut State University Athletes of the Week.

Fitzpatrick placed as the individual runner-up at this weekend’s Northeast-10 Conference Championships. She finished the 6K course in a time of 22:08 to earn All-Conference honors. This marks the second time in her time as an Owl that she has earned All-Conference laurels.

Cerisano led a stout Southern defensive effort with 11 tackles in a 35-15 win over Merrimack on Saturday. The Owls held the Warriors to just 169 yards of total offense and didn’t merit a point on that side of the ball. All of Merrimack’s points came via special teams or defensive scores.
