March 19 • Sparkill, N.Y. • 12 p.m.STARTING A BUSY STRETCHComing off a thrilling season-opening overtime win over Merrimack, three games in five days are on the docket for the Southern Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team this week. The Owls travel to Dowling on Tuesday afternoon before returning home to entertain Post on Thursday night. The week then concludes with a road game at St. Thomas Aquinas on Saturday.
IT'S JUST THE BEGINNINGThe game against Dowling starts a stretch for the Owls of not only three games in five days this week, but of six games in 11 days. SCSU will face New Haven, St. Michael's and Saint Leo in a span of six days next week.
ALL-TIME VS. DOWLINGTuesday's game will mark the first-ever meeting between the two schools.
ALL-TIME VS. POSTSouthern Connecticut leads the all-time series with the Eagles by a 4-0 margin.
THE LAST MEETING WITH POSTFive different players recorded multiple-goal performances as the Southern Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team picked up a 16-7 victory over Post on April 16, 2015.

Emma Farrel scored a team-high six points (three goals, three assists) and moved all alone atop the SCSU single-season assist chart with her three helpers.
Carolynn Keal scored a team-high four goals.
Nicole Healey and
Jennifer McCarthy also scored three goals apiece for the Owls in the game.
Sarah Muise had two goals and an assist.
• The Owls scored the first four goals of the game and never trailed in this one. McCarthy opened the score less than two minutes in, followed by a pair of goals from Muise and one from Healey to build a 4-0 cushion. After a Post goal, Farrel and Healey connected to extend the lead to 6-1.
• The Eagles scored three of the next four goals to cut the deficit to 7-4. However, two more markers from Keal were sandwiched around goals from Healey and Farrel for an 11-4 advantage at halftime.
• Southern put the game out of reach by scoring the first five goals of the second half - a pair from McCarthy and one each from Keal, Farrel and
Lauren Anderson.
• Post scored the final three goals to make it a 16-7 final.
ALL-TIME VS. ST. THOMAS AQUINASSTAC holds a 2-0 lead in the all-time series between the two schools.
THE LAST MEETING WITH STACSarah Cebry tallied her second collegiate hat trick and
Sarah Muise also finished with three points, but the Southern Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team dropped its 2013 season opener to St. Thomas Aquinas, 19-9.
• Despite the fact that these teams last played three years ago, not a single member of the Owls' senior class took part in that last contest.
BALANCE IN THE OPENERNicole Healey,
Emma Farrel and
Samantha Cozzolino each tallied a hat trick for the Owls in the win against Merrimack. Cozzolino also had an assist for a team-high four points.
QUITE A WAY TO FINISHNicole Healey capped her hat trick on Saturday with the game-winning goal on a free position shot in overtime to give Southern the win.
A STRONG DEBUTFreshman
Alexandra Takacs turned away eight shots to earn the win between the pipes in her collegiate debut against Merrimack.
IN SEASON OPENERSWith the win against Merrimack, the Owls now hold a 2-13 record in season openers. The win was over American International College in 2007.
GOOD GROUP BACKSouthern Connecticut has 14 student-athletes returning from last year's team.

IN THE NORTHEAST-10 PRESEASON POLLSouthern Connecticut was selected 13th in the Northeast-10 Conference preseason poll, as voted on by the league's coaches.
LOTS OF FIREPOWER RETURNINGSCSU returns its top four leading scorers from a season ago. In addition, the Owls have 91-percent of their offensive output from 2015 back on the field this spring.
TWO OWLS NAMED TO ALL-ROOKIE TEAMEmma Farrel and
Carolynn Keal were both selected to the Northeast-10 All-Rookie Team for their play during the 2015 season.
• Farrel posted one of the most prolific offensive seasons in program history in her first year with the club. Her 58 points were the second-highest single-season point total in school history, while her 17 assists set a new program single-season mark. Farrel's 41 goals also ranked among the top five single season efforts. She led the Owls in all three categories and was a three-time NE-10 Rookie of the Week.
• Keal provided a strong two-way presence for the Owls and was second on the team in assists (15) and points (46), while leading the squad in groundballs (45), draw controls (51) and caused turnovers (25). Her 15 assists represented the second-highest single-season total in school history.
