Callahan Stops 11, Owls Fall To No. 1 Nationally Ranked Adelphi

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. - Senior goalie Chelsea Callahan (Hamden, Conn.) made 11 saves for the Southern Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team, but the Owls lost to No. 1 nationally ranked Adelphi tonight in a Northeast-10 Conference matchup, 18-2.

The Owls are now 3-5 overall and 1-3 in league play. The Panthers improved to 7-0 and 5-0.

Adelphi scored the first 10 goals of the game before Carolynn Keal (Southington, Conn.) connected for the Owls. The hosts stretched their lead to 12-1 at the break.

Adelphi built an 18-1 lead before Nicole Healey (Milford, Conn.) netted a late goal for SCSU.

The Owls are back in action on Saturday at St. Anselm.
