NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Southern Connecticut women's lacrosse goalkeeper
Caelan Connors was named the Northeast 10 Conference Goalkeeper of the Year, as announced by the NE10 on Tuesday, April 28, 2026. Connors is the first goalie in program history to earn NE10 Goalie of the Year honors. In addition, Connors was named to the All-NE10 First Team.
Macy Vail was also named to the All-NE10 First Team, as Connors and Vail are the first players in program history to earn All-NE10 First Team honors.
Anna Meserve and
Abigail Nolan were named to the All-NE10 Second Team.
Allie Welder and
Breya Montague were named to the All-NE10 Third Team.
Sofia Boucher and
Mia Hartmann were named to the NE10 All-Rookie Team. In total, eight Owls were named to the All-NE10 teams, which is a program record for the most all-conference selections.
It is the first All-Conference recognitions for Nolan, Boucher and Hartmann. It is the second straight season that Vail has earned all-conference honors, after she was named to the All-NE10 Second team in 2025. It is the second straight season and third time overall that Connors has earned All-Conference honors, after being named to the All-NE10 Third team in 2025 and was named to the All-Rookie team in 2023.
It is the third straight season that Meserve has earned All-NE10 honors, after she was named to the All-NE10 Third Team in 2025 and earned All-Rookie Team Honors in 2024. It is the second straight season that Montague has earned All-NE10 honors, after being named to the All-Rookie team in 2025. It is the second time that Welder has earned All-NE10 honors, after she earned All-Rookie team honors in 2024.
Caelan Connors had a fantastic season with the Owls in 2026. Connors was ranked in the top 20 in all of Division II in saves percentage. In addition, she led the NE10 in saves percentage for multiple weeks and was consistently ranked in the top five in the NE10 in goals against average and saves per game. Connors tied the second-most saves in an NE10 game this season, with 17 saves against Pace. She won a career-best of 11 games, with only five losses for the season. Connors picked up a career-best of 20 ground balls and caused five turnovers for the Owls. So far, she has a total of 575 saves in her career and is ranked second all-time in saves in program history.
Macy Vail had another impressive season for Southern Connecticut in 2026. Vail led the Owls with 43 goals and 60 points. She is the ninth player in program history to record a 60-point season and is the second player to do it twice. In two seasons with the Owls, she has totaled 92 goals, 43 assists and 138 points, which is ranked sixth in program history. She was consistently ranked in the top 15 of the NE10 in goals per game and points per game. Vail scored a season-best of four goals, three times and dished out a season-best of three assists in a 23-4 win over Caldwell. In addition, she was named NE10 Player of the Week on March 23, 2026.
Anna Meserve had another incredible season for the Owls. Meserve led Southern in draw controls with a career-best of 59 draws. Meserve scored 32 goals, totaled 42 points, picked up 25 ground balls, caused 18 turnovers and had 10 assists-all were career-bests. She was ranked in the top 15 in the NE10 in draw controls per game. This season, Meserve won the 100
th draw control of her career. She won a career-best of 10 draw controls against Mercy. In a victory against Bentley, she tied her career-best in goals, with five goals and five points with two draws and ground balls.
Abigail Nolan had a breakout season for the Owls in 2026. Nolan scored a career-best of 43 goals, totaled a career-best of 50 points and dished a career-best of 13 assists. She led the Owls in free-position goals with 11. In a victory over Saint Michael's, she totaled the fourth-most points in an NE10 game this season, with eight and scored a career-best of five goals. Nolan was ranked consistently in the top 20 of the NE10 in goals per game and points per game. In addition, she was named NE10 Player of the Week on March 9, 2026.
Allie Welder had another impressive season for Southern Connecticut. Welder led the Owls in caused turnovers with 19. This season, she won 48 draws, picked up 24 ground balls, scored 17 goals and totaled 19 points. Welder consistently was ranked in the top 15 in the NE10 in caused turnovers per game and draw controls per game. Against Adelphi, she won the 100
th draw control of her career. Against Bentley, she caused a career-best of four turnovers, won six draws, scored a goal, had an assist and had two points in the victory.
Breya Montague had another fantastic season for the Owls. Montague led Southern in caused turnovers with 19. This season, she picked up 23 ground balls, won 19 draws, had a career-best of 12 points, scored a career-best of eight goals and had four assists. Montague was regularly ranked in the top 20 of the NE10 in caused turnovers per game, with an average of 1.12 caused turnovers per game. She scored the first goal of her career, had an assist and two points, in the 21-3 win against Felician. Against Mercy, she caused a team-best of four turnovers, picked up two ground balls and won two draws.
Sofia Boucher had an impressive season in her first year for Southern Connecticut. She scored 18 goals, totaled 24 points, picked up nine ground balls, had six assists and caused three turnovers. Boucher scored a career-best of three goals, twice against Felician and American International. She dished out a career-best of two assists and had five points against American International.
Mia Hartmann had a great season in her first year for the Owls. She won a total of 17 draws, picked up nine ground balls, caused eight turnovers, scored five goals and had six points. Hartmann scored a goal, five times this season. She scored the first goal of her career, had a point, picked up two ground balls, caused a turnover and won a draw, in a 21-3 win over Felician.
