Kimi Mitchell Named NE10 Volleyball Setter of the Week

Southern Connecticut State University volleyball standout Kimi Mitchell was named the Northeast 10 Conference Volleyball Setter of the Week, as announced by the NE10 on Monday, Sept. 7, 2026. It is Mitchell's first honor of the season. 

Mitchell, the 2025 NE10 Rookie of the Year, had a solid all-around weekend in the Owls' tri-match against Queens and Franklin Pierce. Mitchell averaged 10.33 assists per set, after dishing out 93 dimes while also totaling eight kills and five blocks with 12 digs. Against Holy Family in a 3-0 sweep, Mitchell had 36 assists with four kills, an ace and five digs with a block. Against Queens, she pashed out 24 helpers and had two blocks and finished the weekend with eight kills, 33 assists, eight digs and three blocks against Franklin Pierce. Early in the year, Mitchell ranks second in the NE10 in assists (231, 9.24) and fourth in hitting percentage (.341).

Mitchell will lead the Owls against Bridgeport on Tuesday, Sept. 8 at 5 p.m. at Pelz Gymnasium. The Owls also face Post on Friday, Sept. 11 at 5 p.m. at home.
