SCSU Men's Outdoor Track & Field Finishes Second at Wilton Wright Invitational

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Southern Connecticut Men's Outdoor Track & Field finished second at the Wilton Wright Invitational, behind Central Connecticut's 170.5 points. Cameron Belton, Lawrence Hicks, Joseph Lamburn, and Luca Cazzaniga all recorded first-place finishes.

TRACK
Luca Cazzaniga won the 10000m, running a personal best time of 32:21.16. Dom Tartarelli placed fourth, running 34:00.15.

Evan McNeice placed fourth in the 1500m, running a time of 4:15.03.

Joe Nham placed fourth in the 110m Hurdles with a time of 15.58.

Nolan Freeman set a new PR in the 400m, placing third with a time of 50.00. Marquis Ward finished fifth with a time of 51.04, and Matt Kilmer finished sixth at 51.14. Noah Conrod placed ninth with a time of 51.72. Ty Phelan and Philip DePoutot rounded out the pack in 16th and 20th, with times of 52.69 and 53.61, respectively.

Lucas León placed 25th in the 100m Dash with a time of 11.82, and Raysean Emrie placed 36th at 12.05.

In the 800m, Nate Huebner led the Owls with a third-place finish, crossing at 2:00.98. Dylan Horkey finished at 2:06.68, good for eighth.

Mekkhi Adkins crossed the line at 59.71 in the 400m Hurdles, finishing in fourth place.

Joseph Lamburn PRd, winning the 5000m with a time of 15:29.50. Matt Speight finished fifth at 15:53.36, and Ryan Gagne finished in 13th with a personal best of 16:16.83.

FIELD
Cameron Belton won the Shot Put, throwing 16.07m (52-08.75). Natanael Barbosa Torres placed second, throwing 15.73m (51-07.25). Leo Jolly finished fourth with a throw of 15.10m (49-06.50). Jordan Ribeiro placed 11th, throwing 13.39m (43-11.25). Christopher Bon Tempo placed 12th with a throw of 12.89m (42-03.50).

Belton also placed fourth in the Discus Throw, throwing 44.31m (145-04). Barbosa Torres threw 39.64m (130-00), good for seventh place.

Michael Von Ehr led the Owls with a fourth-place finish in the Javelin Throw, throwing 47.44m (155-07). Drew Schwartz finished in eighth with a throw of 43.44m (142-06).

JC Joyner finished 13th in the Long Jump with a mark of 6.15m (20-02.25). He also placed third in the triple jump, reaching 12.88m (42-03.25).

Lawrence Hicks won the High Jump with a season-best jump of 1.95.

The Owls return to Storrs for their next competition, UConn's Northeast Challenge on Saturday, April 19th.
