Nicholas DeFelice, ’61, was a captain of the Owls’ football team and the first player to go on to a professional football career. He played with the semi-professional Ansonia Black Knights and the Hartford Charter Oaks before signing with the New York Jets in 1965. He played two seasons with the Jets before being traded to the Miami Dolphins.
